District 36 Project: Service to Others

District 36 Project:  Service to Others

Provincial RTO/ERO budgets up to $100,000 for Service to Others Grants annually.  Each of our 48 Districts can submit proposals.  A committee then examines each application and allocates funds to those meeting the criteria.  Peterborough District 36 has been quite successful in our applications for the past few years.

Activity Haven

Our District was pleased to sponsor a $4,000.00 Project Service to Others Grant which was used by Activity Haven to help renovate their kitchen facilities used to prepare delicious lunches two days a week along with various special events.

If you're looking for a place to be active, to learn new things or socialize with your peers, you might want to try Activity Haven.  To see all the current activities and special events, download their quarterly newsletter from their website at http://www.activityhaven.com/

A Kid's Guide to Canada

We are pleased to announce that RTO District 36 member Cathy Beach's Canada 150 project called "A Kids Guide to Canada" has received a Service to Others grant of $4000.

The money will be used to cover the costs of sending information about the project to all school boards across Canada.  A small, but very efficient group of RTO members, stuffed envelopes to get the information out to classrooms across the country.

For more information about the project, check out the website http://akgtcanada.com.

If you know of groups or organizations which might qualify for a Service to Others grant, please let us know.
